Oslo er et deilig sted

Oslo Oslo Oslo

The first morning I am here I take a picture out of the window of the room I am staying in. The second floor of my friends flat in Sverdrups Gate in Oslo.
That's Tor from my previous post. Best host ever, and a patron of the arts...a very generous spirit. He lives in a RAD town filled with lovely people.

Oslo:

A city of 590,041...of some of the nicest people ever. I love this place. Everyone is super laid back, and when the sun comes out, so do they...it smiles at them and they smile back...considering how far North it is..I see why. I notice as well that the buildings are brightly painted, and probably cast a cheering glow in winter months when the nights are long. There are large pedestrian areas in downtown Oslo, and very few cars in Oslo at all...and all of them stop for pedestrians. Very noice yo.

I took a number of architectural shots...I couldn't help it. I like the lines eh..and each country has their own spin on it all...so what the heck.
This is what the average street looks like. It's pretty clean and bright and sweet.
Some of the buildings have intricate designs in brick or tile, and it looks as though some one did some serious work getting that shit done. It's super fun to my eyes. I am sure if I took mushrooms it would be even more so!
This place is a bit rougher looking...I love the texture of it.
These staggered windows caught my attention for some reason. They were kind of hidden away at the back of a building inside a little courtyard. Sometimes those are the best spots to find things...it the outa the way spots where things get left alone.
Bikes are hot. If you don't have a bike...don't bother me.
I likes dis soooooooo.
Some buildings just sit empty or partially empty, waiting for the perfect weirdo's to come along and bring them to life with a lick of paint and inspiration.
I like shattered glass distortion.

The walls of this city are made for art. There is a lot of scribbles at the human level of a lot of the buildings..
This is the street near Sverdrups at dusk.

The stair well at Sverdrups Gate.
An old mill at dusk.
The corner leading to Sverdrups
One of my favorite buildings...due to the red/green motif..(I'm a Christmas baby. I associate"green and red" with free stuff)
mmmm sunset. I'm learning to like 'em here.
Two Muslim ladies go round the outside...round the outside...round the outside...

Public bike rack. These are all over Oslo. You pay a yearly fee and can use them whenever you wanna. They are fun.
I like the king's head on this. Nothin' like a little head.
